LHA Board Appoints Ginger Brown Executive Director and Scott Matties, AIA LEED-AP, President10/1/2019 ![]() The Lee Highway Alliance (LHA) Board of Directors has appointed Ginger Brown as the organization’s new Executive Director. Brown was the co-founder of LHA in 2013 and has served as the President of the Board for the past year. An Arlington resident for 16 years, she has two children attending Arlington Public Schools and has previously served Arlington County as Planning Commissioner, Housing Commissioner, and Chair of the Joint Facilities Advisory Committee (JFAC). “I am very excited to be taking on a new role in this forward-thinking grass-roots organization,” says Brown. “I am honored to serve the organization during this important time – for both the organization and Lee Highway community – as we go through the planning process with Arlington County.”
As Executive Director, Brown says she intends to make Plan Lee Highway a priority, working with the LHA Board to ensure the community’s vision – as laid out in the 2016 Visioning Study – is front and center throughout the process. She also intends to focus on place-making efforts and supporting Lee Highway’s small business community. The LHA Board also appointed Scott Matties, AIA LEED-AP, as President. Matties has more than 25 years of experience as an architect. He has served on the LHA Board since its inception and as Chair of LHA’s Planning Committee for the past three years.
